Celebrate The Holidays with Save-A-Story on December 6th

Grab a loved one and record your favorite holiday memories with Save-A-Story on Thursday, December 6th at WLRH.

Our award-winning "Save-A-Story" oral history project helps you save your favorite memories and voices. Do you have an interesting family member, friend or neighbor? Is there an important person in your life whose voice you would like to record? Save-A-Story was created for people like you. So far, we've heard from dozens of people ... everyone from vaudeville musicians to centenarian farmers. Civic leader and storyteller Kathyrn Tucker Windham is a big inspiration for this project. She always said 'Everyone has a story'. We hope you'll take a few minutes and save yours.

On Thursday, December 6th, WLRH is holding a Holiday Open House where you can sign up for a free, 20-minute recording session ... and we promise it will be a fast and fun 20 minutes. Sign up by submitting a request via email to saveastory@wlrh.org or call the station at 256-895-9574. We'll set up a session. Then, find someone interesting, show up and starting talking. We'll mail you two CDs of whatever happens. The sessions fill up fast so don't wait to submit a request to saveastory@wlrh.org. Thanks!

CDs from all previous sessions at the library are ready for pick-up. Please call ahead to the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library at (256) 532-5989 and ask for Susanna Leberman. Thanks for sharing!
