The Shoals Symphony at UNA presents “Celebration Concert,” 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, Norton Auditorium. Florence native Roger Briggs will conduct the world premiere of his Symphony No. 2, “The Shoals.” The Shoals Symphony at UNA commissioned the piece to celebrate its 30th anniversary. In addition, the program includes “Le Corsaire,” overture, Op. 21, by Hector Berloiz; Ruggero Leoncavallo’s “Prologo” from “Pagliacci” and Puccini’s “Si mi chiamano Mimi” from “La Boheme” and “O mio babbino caro” from “Gianni Schicchi.” Season tickets are available for all four 2012-13 concerts, and individual tickets are available at the door.
