Climate Change Discussion

Date:

Wednesday, August 21, 2019

Description:

How far will you have to drive to reach a beach 10 years from now? According to a U.N. report, we have just over a decade to mitigate the effects of global warming. Rising temperatures and sea levels, along with extreme drought are thought to be a consequence of the increasing carbon dioxide levels from burning fossil fuels and deforestation. You can learn about the scientific data supporting one of the most significant challenges that society has faced in modern history and how U.S. policies can affect the future of climate change. This event will be presented by Harriet Somerville August 21 at 1 PM, at the Downtown Huntsville Library auditorium. Info. at www.lquest.org and 256-529-8695.
