June 28th at Burritt on the Mountain is to be a special day for “Crafts of the Past.” You can come see our volunteers demonstrating some of the most important crafts of the 1800s. Several of them will allow visitors a chance to test their skills, too.
Quilling, toile painting, crocheting Irish Lace and blacksmithing are just a very few of the many crafts to be demonstrated. You can try your hand at weaving, spinning and tinsmithing, or make a corn-shuck doll to take home. Families are encouraged to bring picnic baskets and make a day of it.
