Festival of Voices: African American Pioneers

Date:

Sunday, April 2, 2017

Description:

The Huntsville City Schools Environmental Education Dept., Earthscope, is proud to announce a special event at Glenwood Cemetery "Festival of Voices," April 2 at 1 PM. Community members will be able to stroll through the cemetery, making several stops along the way, to listen to storytellers, dressed in period clothing, describe their lives and contributions to early Huntsville. The melodious sounds of a gospel choir will serve as a backdrop as groups tour the cemetery. You may join us as we pay homage to those unnamed slaves and early freedmen. This is an event open to the whole community. For more information, please contact Earthscope at 256-428-7309.
