On Sunday, April 6th at 3 PM, Temple B'nai Shalom - in conjunction with the ISJL and sponsored by the Goldsmith Schiffman Fund - is to present a screening and discussion of the acclaimed documentary "God In the Box." Filmmaker Nathan Lang, who wrote and directed this documentary, is to be at the Temple to present the work (more information may be found at godinthebox.com).
This documentary explores the diverse ways we see God in the mind's eye - through the lens of an amazing Box. The movie explores the way we look at all religions, not just Judaism, and also delves into why atheists and agnostics feel the way that they do.
"God In the Box" has won awards for its originality and content. It has been heralded as a "moving glimpse into what happens when people are invited to share their thoughts about God." It has been screened as an Official Selection at the Heartland Film Festival, The Arclight Documentary Film Festival, San Diego Christian Film Festival, The Carmel Art and Film Festival and the John Paul II International Film Festival. It has also been screened at many synagogues throughout the country including Temple Shalom in Naples Florida and Temple Beth-EL in San Antonio Texas.
