Jeans 4 Justice

Date:

Saturday, April 6, 2019

Description:

On April 6, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Lowe Mill's First Floor Connector, you can attend Jeans 4 Justice. Jeans 4 Justice” began in 1999 when a judge overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing jeans at the time of the assault. The judge said it was common knowledge that jeans can’t be forcibly removed. Global protests followed, and since then, thousands of people have worn jeans to work to help raise awareness of sexual assault. Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment and Madison County Coordinated Community Response are asking willing artists to decorate and donate a pair of jeans or jeans-related art to be displayed or worn during a reception, where the community is invited to attend and vote for their favorite piece. This event will be filled with local music, snacks and entertainment. Open to all ages! Info. at 256-533-0399 and http://www.lowemill.net/event/jeans-4-justice/?instance_id=159566
