Rolling Course: Printmaking 101 for Teens

We are excited to announce our Rolling Courses! We are now offering long-term printmaking classes throughout the calendar year. Classes are held on a weekly basis, covering a range of media and skills. Our classroom environment is welcoming and encouraging, perfect for beginners or those who are looking to hone their skills and establish a regular art practice. Classes are held in our new Studio 150 at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, a large, open space that allows plenty of room for social distancing and air flow while learning and working. Printmaking 101 for Teens is a new instructor-led course by GPP Member and Artist of the Year, Kailey Mackenzie. This is an arts enrichment course for students ages 14-18 to provide comprehensive hands-on learning in a safe environment. Over the course of two semesters, students will learn the following: General knowledge of printmaking Monotype and monoprinting Single color block printing 2-color block printing reduction to create third color Screen printing Drypoint intaglio Basic hand-setting of type How to edition/number work How to talk about work How to create work that reflects one’s individuality
