40 Years of Love Still Growing at 305 8th Street

Thursday, February 28, 2019

When she was a teenager in the 1980s, Andrea Williams spent her afternoons before dance practice with many of the residents at 305 8th Street- Huntsville's group home for adults with cognitive disabilities denied state-funded care. Now the home is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and Williams is now the Executive Director of 305 8th Street. In this conversation, she and producer Katy Ganaway talk about how 305 8th Street has evolved since her grandparents opened it, and why Williams decided to carry on their legacy, adopting their vision of serving vulnerable adults with disabilities. March 7, 2019 will be 305 8th Street's 'Love Grows Here' resident recognition dinner. The dinner is the nonprofit's biggest fundraiser, helping to match half the funds needed to run the group home.
