Adoptees Discover More with Genomic Sequencing
Doctor Tom May is a bioethicist with Huntsville's HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. As new knowledge results from research, May and other professionals in his field consider how and why it should be employed. When the advancement of science changes what can be done in a clinical or laboratory setting, he and his colleagues are tasked with determining what should be done. Work by Doctor May and his HudsonAlpha colleague Doctor Kim Strong, pertaining to the promise of genomic sequencing for adopted children, was recently published in the American Journal of Bioethics, and featured in New York Magazine. May spoke with WLRH host Shane Scott on that topic, and more generally about bioethics. You can stream or download their conversation here.
