Education Resources for Students and Families

Alabama public K-12 students will not return to the classroom for the remainder of the school year. Below are some resources to help educate and entertain kids learning at home.

Learn more about how at-need students can bridge the 'Digital Divide' - Students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program will automatically receive vouchers through the ABCS program to cover all costs of equipment and service through December 2020. Vouchers will be mailed in mid-to-late August.

Learn at Home with APT Broadcast Stream & Schedule - live stream of APT's special curriculum-related weekday programming, plus a dynamic, interactive broadcast schedule, allowing you to find programs by grade level and subject area, integrated with digital learning assets from APT and PBS Learning Media.APTV Education Digital Media Library- free, trusted digital resources for all grade levels, including videos, lesson plans, and activities that support learning at home. These resources align with state standards, are customizable, and can be fully integrated with digital teaching platforms like Google Classroom and Remind.

Boys and Girls Club Online - a safe place for kids to go online to get help and resources they need from people they can trust.
Homework Hotline - students (K-12) or parent/guardian of a student that needs help with homework, can call the Homework Help Hotline at 256-212-0027 to connect with one of BGCNAL's trained staff.
