Historic Huntsville's Garden Tour

Thursday, June 5, 2014

The Historic Huntsville Foundation prepared a presentation of five private gardens in the Twickenham and Old Town historic districts. The diverse group included hideaways ranging from the more informal to the more structured, showing a garden can beautifully compliment a bungalow or a stately federal-style home. Four of the gardens to be featured were designed by the noted local artist and gardener Bill Nance, who designed many of the gardens featured in the H.H.F. coffee table book Through the Garden Gate: The Gardens of Historic Huntsville. The debut of the H.H.F. Spring Garden Tour was slated for Saturday, June 7th, with the walking tour to proceed through gardens along Calhoun Street and Randolph Avenue. The foundation's Donna Castellano called it a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the city's great old districts, in full bloom. She spoke with WLRH host Beth Norwood.
