HSO Presents Wagner's Epic Ring Without Words

Friday, February 17, 2017

Strongly influenced by the comments of Richard Wagner's grandson about the importance of the orchestra in the "Ring" cycle, conductor Lorin Maazel agreed to produce a symphonic synthesis of the four operas which he called "The Ring Without Words." This Saturday (2/18), The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra will perform this massive work along with music by Jacques Offenbach. HSO Music Director and Conductor Gregory Vajda speaks with Ginny Kennedy about the program and how he and the musicians prepare for this adventurous musical journey. More information about the concert is at www.hso.org.
