I'm Judy Watters, Director of Cultural Affairs (we chose our own titles), and I've been involved with WLRH since its opening day Oct. 13, 1976. I host the morning classic and classical music programs on Morning Blend alternating days with Ginny Kennedy. In addition, I produce the SUNDIAL Writers' Corner, featuring outstanding regional writers on WLRH each weekday morning at 9:30am and 6:44pm.
My patchwork quilt of work experience includes several years as a band/choral director, piano and French horn instructor, and Personnel Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Missile Command. I played horn in the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra for nineteen years, but I'm now content to cheer on sons trombonist Harry, Jr. and trumpeter Ken, both professional musicians.
For a number of years, my late husband, Harry and I co-hosted SUNDIAL, a two-hour program aired Saturday mornings on WLRH. SUNDIAL included a mix of music and commentaries, featuring the talents of local writers, as well as Harry's
infamous "Word Trails," challenging listeners to call in their answers each Saturday.
I'm honored to be a part of the WLRH staff. WLRH continues to be a source of great pleasure and satisfaction for me - I'm just glad it's not television!
