Brass, Reeds, and Percussion (May 19, 2018)

The Dutch wind-band composer Wim Laseroms was born in 1944. He became a member of a Dutch fanfare band at age 6, playing a drum. The name of the band is Finis Coronat Opus Bosschenhoofd. He then went on to learn to play the accordian and the piano. At age 22, he was asked to manage the band—which scored much better than before in the next band contest. He then went to the Brabant Conservatory and continued to conduct the Since 1971, he has composed over 120 compositions for wind band. We open today’s edition of Brass, Reeds, and Percussion with his “March Espede.”
