The Huntsville Hospital Fever and Flu Clinic opened to the public in March 2020, as a temporary COVID testing site. Throughout the tumultuous years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the nurses at the Clinic adapted their services to better serve the community, expanding to various vaccines and forms of treatment for COVID patients. Over the course of more than three years, the number of COVID hospitalizations have dwindled down. The hospital decided to permanently close the Clinic on Friday, April 28th.
Cindy Rogers, a nurse practitioner who began working at the Clinic in the early days, joins Katy Ganaway to discuss navigating such perilous times, keeping hope alive among her colleagues and what she's taking from this experience in the new chapter of her medical career.
