The event, which takes place October 13, 2024 from 3 PM – 9 PM, will feature performances from 50 local musicians, including a dedicated Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation stage, which will play host to MDMEF music scholarship students. To celebrate the reopening of the historic space, the annual community event will feature food trucks and bars, music and educational vendors, and fireworks.
The first Microwave Dave Day was held on June 28, 2015, and featured a proclamation by Mayor Tommy Battle citing Microwave Dave Gallaher’s decades of community involvement and the longevity of his music career. While Microwave Dave Day is free to attend, donations are gratefully accepted, and support local music education program and student music scholarships.
