Do you need more adventure in your life? The Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge is what you’re looking for. Participants will hike 26.3 miles in one life-changing day on the Pinhoti Trail after completing a 12-week training program. The public is invited to attend information sessions during the month of January across the state of Alabama.

Experience the magic of Mardi Gras at Huntsville Botanical Garden’s Jazzed-Up February on February 1st from 7 to 10 PM. The evening features a New Orleans-inspired menu, live jazz by the Moondust Big Band, and Mardi Gras décor. Jazzed-Up February a night of New Orleans magic in the Isenberg Grand Hall. Madison County CAJA supports community members to advocate for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system. CAJA volunteers independently investigate cases and advocate for the needs of children until they are placed in a safe, permanent home. The next volunteer training begins on February 6 2025. HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology is hosting Tiny Genes, Big Effects on February 6 at 6pm at The Belle at Stovehouse. During this networking and TED talk-style event, HudsonAlpha scientists will share about how the discovery of certain genes has impacted your daily life, your health, and the world around you. The Huntsville Chamber Music Guild presents the Busch Trio at First Baptist church Huntsville on Friday February 7th at 7:30 PM. On Saturday, February 8th, at the VBC, the Greater Huntsville Humane Society presents the 35th annual Dog Ball! The Ball raises money to help covre the cost of caring for disadvantaged animals in our area. You can have a paw-z-tively fabulous time visiting with friends, meeting other dog fanciers, and petting this year’s Very Important Dogs. WLRH is helping to host this bark-tastic event. The legendary oral history project StoryCorps is bringing its mobile recording booth to the Tennessee Valley February 13th through March 16th to archive the memories and stories of you, your family, friends and neighbors. It's that time of year! The Tennessee Valley Community Garden Association is excited to bring back the annual community Seed Swap on Friday February 14th at 6pm at the Church of the Nativity's Ridley Hall in downtown Huntsville. You can bring seeds that you’ve saved to share, and also take new seeds home for this year’s garden. Also come hear a special presentation from the Feral Forager. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s INTUITIVE Planetarium is partnering with internationally recognized violinist Itamar Zorman for Music of the Spheres, a Valentine’s Day evening under the stars. Zorman will perform celestial works paired with stunning visuals in the planetarium’s 67-foot dome. Huntsville Ballet presents Dancers’ Choice. February 13 thru the 16th. This series of in-studio performances gives our professional dancers the opportunity to perform in genres of their choice. Huntsville Community Chorus brings back their dessert theater in February. You can enjoy the talents of HCCA members and enjoy a delicious dessert during the presentation. This fun-filled variety show includes a little opera, folk music, musical theater, instrumental music and Huntsville's "Pickin' Friends.
