Julie Williams

Before coming to WLRH, Julie taught English at Huntsville High School, served as a reader for the national AP Language exam, and was named Huntsville City Schools Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2012-13. In 2017 Julie chartered the school’s yoga and meditation club out of a conviction that the club was an important way for students to learn to process the stresses of life. She serves on the Board of Directors at Arts Huntsville, volunteers her time at the Huntsville Museum of Art, and enrolls in local art classes.

In the fall of 2021, Julie brought her communication skills, knowledge of the community, and love of public radio to her new position as Membership and Promotions Specialist. Her favorite radio programs include the Sundial Writer’s Corner, Morning Blend, News and Talk, All Things Considered, and This American Life. Julie is married to Richard and has two grown sons. Most afternoons you can find her walking Belle the Rescue Dog through the neighborhood, listening to a podcast.
