Brass, Reeds, and Percussion: April 5, 2025

This edition of Brass, Reeds, and Percussion features marches from the Haydn brothers: a march by Michael Haydn performed by the Royal Sweedish Army Band and a march by Joseph Haydn performed by the Central Wind Orchestra of Hungarian Army. Both marches have been arranged for performance by modern military bands. Joseph Haydn was the older brother and composed 104 symphonies and was the more prolific composer by far. Five years younger than Joseph, Michael Haydn composed 43 symphonies. Joseph spent most of his life working for the Hungarian Esterhazy family while Michael spent most of his life working in Salzburg.
