This special edition of Brass, Reeds, and Percussion features the compositions of a single composer: Colonel Professor Hannes Apfolterer of the Austrian Armed Forces. Since becoming the full-time host of BRP in 2011, I have had the opportunity to interact with many different contemporary band composers. Col. Prof. Apfolterer is one my favorites because he composes modern yet very accesible music. If you listen to Brass, Reeds, and Percussion on a regular basis, you have heard numerous compositions and arrangements by Col. Apfolter. In addition, you have heard numerous performances conducted by Col. Apfolterer when performed by the Austrian Military Band Tyrol and the Original Tiroler Kaiserjägermusik.
