The Sundial Writers Corner: Donna Geise

In this episode, Author and Poet Donna Geise pays tribute to two men whose impact on the world was intended to inspire both young and old alike: one in the face of a terrible tragedy – and the other from the living rooms of millions of viewers around the world.

Donna Geise began writing after retirement as an English Literature and Composition teacher. She belongs to the local literary society’s poetry workshop and several state poetry societies. She particularly enjoys the challenge of fixed forms and the linking of sound and sense.

“The Wales Window” was published in The Mississippi Poetry Journal and in her poetry collection titled Searching for a Song – which was published in the fall of 2025 which also includes the poem “Mr. Rogers.”

Donna lives in Huntsville inspired by family, friends, and Alabama’s beautiful landscape.
