Sundial contributor Victor M. Martin is a retired U.S. Air Force Fighter Pilot, Physicist, Airline Captain, and Lifelong Explorer. He earned the Air Force Outstanding Physics Research Award, commanded one of the last Air Force tactical reconnaissance squadrons, and later flew worldwide as a FedEx MD-11 Captain.

He is the author of eight published works, including NORTH OF ORDINARY.

He also holds Maritime Master certifications, and has trekked, climbed, and sailed extensively all over the world—often with his wife, Kathy, son, Matt, and a succession of Golden Retrievers.
