Valley Sounds Episode 418: Poor Rover
Poor Rover is an acoustic trio featuring Zeb Worlund, Ryan Ayers, and Frank Garcia, AKA Winslow Davis. Blending folk, Americana, and singer-songwriter influences, the group creates original songs rooted in personal experiences, family, friendship, and life in North Alabama.
During their conversation, the band reflects on their individual musical journeys, from church choirs and classical violin to jazz bands and songwriting, and how those influences shape their sound today. They also share the story of how the band formed, the origin of their unique name, and the inspiration behind “Cup of Tea,” a song inspired by Zeb Worlund’s relationship with his wife.
The trio’s collaborative approach and dedication to original music have resulted in a growing catalog of recordings and a reputation for engaging live performances that evolve with each show.
