Desire, Illusion, and Family: Theatre Huntsville Brings “A Streetcar Named Desire” to the Stage

A new production from Theatre Huntsville brings A Streetcar Named Desire to the stage at the Von Braun Center Playhouse.

Written by Tennessee Williams, the Southern gothic drama follows Blanche DuBois as she arrives in New Orleans to stay with her sister Stella, setting off a tense and emotional clash with Stanley Kowalski.

Cast members Haley Loveday and Erin Barrow say the story’s power lies in its emotional complexity — with Blanche navigating illusion and identity, and Stella caught between family and survival.

Directed by Sam Marsh and powered by a volunteer cast and crew, the production highlights the kind of community storytelling Theatre Huntsville is known for.

Performances run March 27 through April 5, with evening and matinee options available. Showtimes and tickets available at THtix.com
