Lisa Chang
Manager of Development and Community Engagement
Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Lisa has been a supporter and listener of public media and listener- and community-supported radio across the years. Lisa comes to the station with decades of nonprofit experience, including serving on the leadership team of various issues-driven non-profits, as well as working in fundraising, development, and board management for public television, universities, and issues-driven non-profits in Washington, DC, Baltimore, Houston, St. Louis, and Huntsville. She has consulted on strategic planning, major gifts, and capital campaigns for non-profits across the United States, and she has served on grant review panels in both St. Louis and Cleveland. Lisa brings a specific expertise in engaging diverse communities through informal places of learning and gathering including museums, churches, and more. She applies a strengths-based, data-driven approach to her work guided by the ethics and best practices of social work.
Lisa earned her BA in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and completed her Masters in Social Work at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.
Lisa is active in both the Huntsville and Birmingham music scenes and is an enthusiastic supporter of the creative talents and opportunities found in North Alabama.
