Arts Underground: Taylor McLendon

In this episode, host Katy Ganaway meets local artist Taylor McLendon. His work deals with themes of the real and raw parts of the human experience- endurance, sacrifice, resilience… all of which you can see in Studio #255 at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment, inside and outside the complex.

Taylor tells us about getting his artistic start in a Parisian store, where he met Lowe Mill’s Executive Director, Marcia Freeland.
The accomplished muralist and visual artist lets us in on a special piece of his, soon to be on permanent display at Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, Ala. We also hear about his most recent exhibition at Lowe Mill, “What We Carry/ What We Release“.

This interview was recorded June 3, 2026. It first aired June 5, 2026. The interview was recorded remotely, using Riverside Studio.
