The Curiosity Squad Episode 36 – Dragonfly Mission, Drought, Wild Plums and Summer Gardening

This week Alex Hall talks with Jonathan Case, a principal research scientist in UAH’s Earth System Science Center, and a NASA-affiliated author for the U.S. Drought Monitor about the recent rain in North Alabama and whether we’re still in drought. She also gets some hints and tips on gardening this summer from Lilly Oaks at the Alabama Extension and identifies wild plum trees with the help of forager, Casey Lanier. Finally, one of the most astounding new missions on the horizon is the Dragonfly mission – a mini-cooper sized quad copter, launching to Titan – Saturn’s largest moon – in 2028. Mission Manager Solveig Irvine tells us all about it.
