Meet ‘Classic Hip Hop Show’ Host DJ Supreme!

DJ Supreme got his name from rapper and record producer Doug E. Fresh, and started producing The Classic Hip Hop Show in 2006. Since then, he’s lived several lives as program manager of a commercial radio station, as one half of Birmingham-based rap duo Shaheed and DJ Supreme, and as operations manager of Birmingham public radio station, WBHM.

In this conversation, WLRH’s Katy Ganaway talks with DJ Supreme, learning more about how The Classic Hip Hop Show has evolved over the years, and the influential greats in the music industry that have shaped the show and Supreme as a host.

This interview was recorded Tuesday, March 31, 2026. A shorter version aired during Tennessee Valley Mornings on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
