Finding Flow: A Growing Movement Community in Huntsville

On Monday evenings at Big Spring Park in Huntsville, a colorful scene takes shape—hoops spinning, silk fans rippling, and people gathering to watch or join in.

It’s part of Huntsville Flow and Grow, a community built around “flow arts,” a form of movement that blends creativity, rhythm, and prop-based performance.

For participants like Leanne, also known as Lila Celeste, it’s both a creative outlet and a source of connection.

“It’s very healthy for you mentally and physically,” she says. “And the community aspect has been a game changer.”

The group is open to all, with experienced members often sharing props and teaching newcomers.

Jarrett Anderson, who has been involved since the early days, says the group has grown quickly in just a couple of years, helped in part by its visibility at Big Spring Park.

“People just walk by and discover us,” he says.

Huntsville Flow and Grow meets regularly at the park and welcomes anyone interested in movement, art, or community.

The group will host a Spring Flow Jam on April 4 from 2 to 10 p.m., featuring workshops, DJ’d music, movement and visual art, and a food drive.
