Huntsville SpaceWalk 3.0

Brought together by Lana Lien for her Eagle Scout project, the Land Trust of North Alabama, Burritt on the Mountain and Monte Sano State Park partnered to launch the Huntsville SpaceWalk 3.0. Curiosity Squad host, Alex Hall, went to the ‘stick breaking’ ceremony on Friday April 3rd.

This trail is the 3rd incarnation of the SpaceWalk. The original scout trail was developed in the 1960’s and a revision was done in the 1990’s (marked with shuttle symbols). The new trail is 16.1 miles and is marked with Space Launch System symbols. Parts of the trail are rated ‘very difficult’, so care is advised if you are not an experienced hiker.
