North Alabama at Play: How Sports are Reshaping the Tennessee Valley – Part 1

Across North Alabama, communities are making major investments in sports and recreation. New facilities are being planned, existing venues are expanding, and local leaders see athletics as more than just a pastime.

They see them as an opportunity to attract visitors, support local businesses, and improve quality of life for residents.

Today, in the first of our two-part series, North Alabama at Play: How Sports Are Reshaping the Tennessee Valley, we look at the growing role sports as recreation and tourism is playing in communities across the region.

Throughout the region, current and future plans are underway to serve athletes, families, and visitors for years to come.

Joining Tennessee Valley Mornings was James Gossett, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Huntsville.
