Follow the Ardmore Public Library’s Storybook Trail to Discover the Joy of Reading

One of the greatest challenges libraries face today is helping children discover the joy of reading in a world filled with screens and endless digital distractions. Sometimes, the best way to encourage literacy isn’t by asking children to sit still with a book—but by inviting them to explore a story one step at a time.

That’s the idea behind the Storybook Trail, an outdoor experience that combines reading, walking, and family time in a unique and engaging way. On July 22nd, the Ardmore Public Library is celebrating the re-dedication of its Storybook Trail as part of its Summer Reading Finale.

Joining Tennessee Valley Mornings is Kymla Eubanks, a grant writer for the Ardmore Public Library to talk about the project, the importance of literacy, and why libraries continue to be much more than places to check out books.

Libraries have always been places where stories begin, but increasingly they’re also places where communities gather, children discover a love of learning, and families create lasting memories together.

Whether that happens inside the library or along a Storybook Trail, the goal remains the same: helping people connect through the power of reading.
