Emergency Agencies Conduct Large-Scale Train Derailment Drill Near Lee High School

Emergency responders from across Madison County participated in a full-scale train derailment exercise designed to test coordination, communication, and emergency response capabilities during a large-scale disaster. The simulation involved Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency, Huntsville City Schools, Huntsville Fire & Rescue, medical personnel, and volunteer victims. WLRH’s Marsha Arends spoke with officials about how the exercise was planned, what agencies hoped to learn, and how the training will help strengthen emergency preparedness efforts throughout the Tennessee Valley.
