So, What IS a U.S. Drought Monitor Author?

Jonathan Case recently received the news that his agricultural, hydrological, and meteorological contributions to drought indicators will soon be put to use for the entire U.S. Case is now an author for the U.S. Drought Monitor, headquartered at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Case talks with WLRH’s Katy Ganaway about how his experience as a NASA-affiliate and UAH’s Principal Research Scientist has prepared him for this role and what he hopes to achieve in his tenure, and ultimately, how he hopes to help the parts of the continental U.S. that are experiencing drier conditions than normal.

This interview was recorded April 17, 2026. It aired duringĀ Tennessee Valley Mornings on April 22, 2026.
